Opera singer
Ágnes Molnár made her opera debut at age 21, in a performance of Ferenc Erkel's Hunyadi László in Győr. She would later also sing the roles of Zerlina, Susanna and Musetta, while also gaining early experience in operetta and contemporary classical music.
She started her classical music studies at the Singing Department of the Conservatory of Győr, Hungary. As an opera soloist, she first performed at the age of 21 at the National Theatre of Győr, singing the young Mathias in László Hunyadi written by Ferenc Erkel. In 2008 she gained admission to Franz Liszt Academy of Music, where she obtained her Masters degree as the student of Magda Nádor in 2013. During her undergraduate years she took part in the master classes of Júlia Hamari, Éva Marton, Nicholas Clapton and Jeanne Henny. Since then she has performed in several opera and operetta productions, including Mozart’s Don Giovanni (Zerlina), Kacsoh’s John the Valiant (French princess); Mozart’s The marriage of Figaro (Susanna), Puccini’s La boheme (Musetta).To this day she is still performing the role of Countess Rolla with great success in Albert Szirmai’s Mágnás Miska at the Budapest Operetta Theatre. She was also part of the premiere of some contemporary operas and oratorios (Béla Faragó: Átváltozás [Transformation]; László Dubrovay: A váltságdíj [The ransom]; Miklós Csemiczky: Hymni Ambrosiani). Besides giving concerts in Hungary she has sung with the Beijing Symphony Orchestra in the Forbidden City Concert Hall, but also in Slovakia, Spain and England.
